Criminal Penalties for Kidnapping and Coercion

If you have been arrested for kidnapping or coercion, you are facing the possibility of a significant prison sentence. Kidnapping in the first degree is a Class A felony with a maximum sentence of up to 20 years in prison, and a mandatory minimum prison sentence of 90 months.

Second degree kidnapping is a Class B felony that carries a maximum sentence of up to 10 years in prison, with a mandatory minimum prison sentence of 70 months. Coercion is a Class C felony with a maximum penalty of up to 5 years in prison.
